Special Funds
Compassion Fund   |  Jewish Foundation for Aging Communities

The Teen Tzedakah Fund was established four years ago as a joint effort of the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies and the Bureau of Jewish Education's High School for Jewish Studies. This special fund provides the opportunity for teens in grades 8 through 12 to learn how to become philanthropists in the Teen Tzedakah program.

Each year a group of approximately twenty teens meet twice a month from January to April and have the responsibility to give away $15,000 in grants to any charities they select. They explore the needs of both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities through presentations by agency representatives, site visits, groups discussions and individual research.
