Learn tied and stitched (shibori) resist dyeing techniques with indigo dye. All supplies will be provided, you will have the option to dye a T-shirt or set-of-4 cloth napkins. This is an in-person workshop, taught by Dawne Hoeg, Founder and Executive Director of Stitch Buffalo. Stitch Buffalo is an inclusive space for refugee and immigrant women to create handcrafted goods and find economic empowerment; a textile art center for community members to gain and share skills in the textile arts; and an organization committed to stewarding the environment through the re-use of textile supplies. Additionally, Dawne teaches in the Textile and Fiber Arts Design Department at Buffalo State College. The class is limited to 10 participants and will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
