Gary Grelick Student Golf Award
A Buffalo native, Gary Grelick built a life defined by excellence, dedication, and community. After graduating from Alliance College, where he captained both the soccer and golf teams, he began his career coaching collegiate athletics before returning home to join the family business, BOMI Jewelers. Through his leadership, the business expanded into one of Western New York’s most respected jewelry companies, while his work as a gemologist earned him recognition around the world.
While his professional accomplishments were significant, golf was one of Gary’s lifelong passions. A founding member and devoted supporter of Crag Burn Golf Club, he helped guide the club through financial challenges in the early 1980s and remained deeply involved in the local golf community for decades. He served on the board of the Buffalo District Golf Association and inspired countless friends and fellow golfers with his enthusiasm for the sport and his commitment to excellence both on and off the course.
Following Gary’s passing in March 2026, his family established the Gary Grelick Student Golf Award and the Grelick Family Foundation to honor his legacy, values, and enduring commitment to the Western New York Community.
The Gary Grelick Student Golf Award will support high school golfers throughout Western New York who are committed to developing their skills and pursuing competitive opportunities. Scholarship assistance may help offset the costs of lessons, tournament fees, equipment, travel, and other expenses that can create barriers for young athletes.
Together, the Gary Grelick Student Golf Award and the Grelick Family Foundation transform the Grelick family’s personal values and lifelong passions into lasting opportunities for future generations. Through legacy giving, these endowments serve as a lasting reflection of the Grelick’s generosity, leadership, and belief in investing in the potential of others.
